I, for one, hate colds!

Well, I guess it's time. The cold has hit our house. I am sick, Taylor is sick, and Ethan is sick....all that's left is Dave and Jamie. But Dave needs to not be sick when I'm sick, so someone can be functional.
I know everyone is a some time or another supposed to get sick, but why do mom's get sick? We don't get sick days, we don't have someone to cover for us when we don't feel like doing our jobs, and I, most certainly, can't afford a maid. :) So I'm sick, my house is a mess, my kids have been feed today at least twice, so it's been a good day. Praise be to God for my wonderful, caring husband. As I was out shopping today, he cleaned the house, so at least the kids would have a fresh palette to make a mess of. I only hope he'll be as willing tomorrow to clean. :)
Today was even one of those days that I wanted to go to church to let someone else mess with my kids, so I could get some inspiration or rest, one of the two. But once I sat down, I didn't want to go anywhere, do anything, or see anyone. No offense to anyone. I just didn't feel like leaving my house, because that would mean taking a shower, getting dressed, applying a few layers of lotion to my chapped nose, making sure I had plenty of tissues and chapstick.....oh yeah, and I'd have to get my kids ready. As much as I like church and being there, it's just no fun when you're sick and you're in charge of getting everyone there.
Back to the whole "why do mom's get sick?", we should be able to get some kind of vaccine or something. No other job requires you to get up out of bed how ever early, fix breakfast, dress your wonderfully not awake children, throw something on yourself, walk them to the bus in the morning coldness. Then, you would think...you could go back to your warm house to snuggle in bed...but no!!! Your wonderfully not awake children have full function and are wired!!! So no sleep, only the start of the day continues with laundry, dishes, cleaning, laundry, more dishes, cleaning, sweeping. And then you might get an occasional break, only interrupted by a screaming kid getting hurt or needed something at that very moment...and then the phone rings!!!! Oh my, how I have wanted to scream!!! How I have actually done just that!!!
I don't want to be sick, because it makes all that some much worse....because I take the break, the dishes, laundry, cleaning don't get done! And when I finally get better, YIKES! the house is well, just YIKES!
So for all my friends out there...please no visitors right now! Let me get over my cold! so I can clean my house! Which by the way better happen at least by Saturday.....Ethan's turning 2 and we're celebrating with family, HERE!!!!
